Taking a typical Classclean operating room of 5.7 m×7.5 m as an example, compares the energy consumption of primary return air system with and without a heat pipe exchanger auxiliary electric heating equipment. The results show that after the installation of a heat pipe heat exchanger the energy saving is greater than its increased energy consumption caused by more resistance, the more the number of pipe rows, the higher the energy saving, and the increase of heat pipe row number leads to higher initial cost, which leading to the longer payback period accordingly.
